Does Holland Have It Right With Their Drug and Prostitution Policies?
Question by harryh: Does Holland have it right with their drug and prostitution policies?
I recently went to Holland, spent a couple of days in Amsterdam, and after seeing their policies first hand, I think they have it right, and the U.S. has it wrong in regards to prostitution, and drugs.
A. Prostitution/red light district
First.. you don’t have to see them. I’m married and didn’t partake.
Second…You have to use a condom.
Third…They are licensed and taxed.
Fourth….Tourism this generates huge amounts of tax dollars.
Fifth…..The women are not forced to be there. They want to be there. They make about 50 euros for a 15 minute su!$ and Fu%$ as they call it.
Sixth. There really wasn’t this huge sexual tension like we have here in the states. The fact was that sex there- just wasn’t that big of deal. If you wanted it great, if not that’s cool too.
Drugs.
1. There are only soft non lethal drugs that are allowed. Pot, Hash and Mushrooms
2. It ‘s taxed heavily.
3. Again, you don’t have to go. If you don’t like it, change the channel.
4. Here in the U.S. you go to a doctor, tell him you have sore back, give him a $ 100 and you scrip for oxy’s. We have no real regulation on lethal drugs like these. These things kill. End of story.
5. Unlike walking the streets of a city like Phillya, or New Orleans, you didn’t have everyone getting drunk and wanting to start a fight. Those who wanted to party were mellow and happy. I did not have to worry about bumping into someone and them wanting to kick my ass.
5. Less crowding in our prisons.
6. Law enforcement can be used for other purposes.
