Rapping as a Career Choice, What to Rap About?
Question by : Rapping as a career choice, what to rap about?
some of ya’ll might think im stupid but i dont care. rapping is the only thing i know how to do and the only thing i’ve ever been good at. The only problem is I want tp rap about the struggles of where i’m from, New Orleans. I don’t live in the hood any more and havent since Katrina and i never dealt drugs or anything. I just want to know is it fake of me to rap about the struggles of the ghetto like poverty, drug abuse, etc if I’m no longer around it even though I am from New Orleans and bad things are happening here everyday. I still live in New Orleans BTW and I’m 20. I also rap about guns, but i don’t say i’m a gangsta or nothing like that. Some compare me to Tupac but i think their just being nice, I dont think i’m even close to the rapper and artist he was.

Rap about YOUR life experiences. As long as it relates to your life, go with it. And it’s not cool anymore in hip hop to rap about guns and drugs and shiit.
