What Kind of Degree Do You Need to Work for a Crisis Hotline?
Question by this person: What kind of degree do you need to work for a crisis hotline?
Like 1-800-suicide or whatever. I just made that up LOL but I wanted to know what kind of degree (if any) that you need to be able to work at crisis hotlines. Where you call the number and you talk to someone about your problems.
And how do you become one? Has anyone ever done this?

Your looking for a degree in Human Services (Counseling). There are many focus’s to choose from i.e addictions, mental health, grief, high risk youth. This will get you into the field, to progress further you would need to get into grad school.
