Chronic Pain and Drug Addiction…please Help.?
Question by Scooter: Chronic pain and drug addiction…please help.?
I have a friend whose son takes medication for a legitimate chronic pain. He is also, unfortunately addicited to several illicit drugs, and was already a heavy drinker when he was injured. Does anyone know of a treatment facility geared to handle drug addicition and pain management. Everything here has failed. The family doctor is concerned for his life.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
The pain medication is prescribed by a doctor and is absolutely neccessary. He is under the care of competant pain management. The problem is most treatment facilities are only set up to get the drugs out of you. They aren’t set up to try and determine which ones need to really stay in you. we need advanced drug and alchohol treatment combined with pain management.

Was There a Medicine Shortage?

During Hurricane Katrina, was there a medicine shortage? I’m referring to those who were trapped in houses and those who ran out of medicine (example like if they had illnesses–especially asthma though) was there like a shortage of medicine and medications? And if so, could they have found those medicines and medications inside the abandoned drug stores and such? I’m asking because I’m doing a school report on Katrina.

There’s a rumor going down amongst Scientology watchers involving a woman named Mary Rieser, the director of Narconon Georgia (a Scientologist drug rehab center that was sued for the death of a Marine Corps veteran and is now facing an insurance fraud investigation). Mary Rieser stepped down as director and rumor has it that’s she’s at a place called “Flag” (Scientology’s megachurch in Florida) and is “getting sec-checked within an inch of her life.”

After some Googling, I found out that “sec-checking” is Scientology-speak for “Security Check.”
