Chronic Pain and Drug Addiction…please Help.?

I have a friend whose son takes medication for a legitimate chronic pain. He is also, unfortunately addicited to several illicit drugs, and was already a heavy drinker when he was injured. Does anyone know of a treatment facility geared to handle drug addicition and pain management. Everything here has failed. The family doctor is concerned for his life.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
The pain medication is prescribed by a doctor and is absolutely neccessary. He is under the care of competant pain management. The problem is most treatment facilities are only set up to get the drugs out of you. They aren’t set up to try and determine which ones need to really stay in you. we need advanced drug and alchohol treatment combined with pain management.

I don’t know if it’s an addiction, masturbating is natural and most people do it. If you really want to stop, just think about some other stuff every time you get the urge.

Yes definitely, you can get over an addiction and detox and a program will help, ESPECIALLY if it is a 12 step or bible based program . That demon will leave if you resist it, But he likes to come back, so get into the word of God and start praying and truly be set free like me. I was battling but now its all gone..Look to the cross, Call upon Jesus, Repent. Ask Him to help. He has never ever let me down.

Hi sorry its taen a while to get back to you. For starters i have often put a real lot of thort as why people do that. I guess some of us are born to self destruct and others wounder why ???? But any one or all of the bottom things and more can happen has i am going through the mental health crap.

A friend of mine and I were discussing the recent deaths of a few celebrities. We looked online to see how many have passed before their time from drug addiction and alcoholism. I was stunned to find out how may recently have died and most of them were from a prescription addiction to oxycodone or oxycontin. A friend’s teen had surgery lately and I warned the mother to ask for another pain killer because of knowing the rate of addiction to oxycodone. She said that she wasn’t concerned and that her son would be all right. I relate my personal family history of drug addiction.
